Winning project — PulmoScan
2020YES Hackathon "Contain COVID-19"
PulmoScan
An online hackathon run in March 2020 by the Kristal Foundation with USAID YES Georgia, in cooperation with the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, with a dedicated seed fund of 50,000 GEL. Six projects were declared winners, among them the team of Anri Kuparadze and Nata Sulakvelidze with a remote diagnostic service for the bacterial and viral pneumonia caused by COVID-19: an AI web application that returns a diagnosis from an uploaded chest radiograph. The service was offered free to clinics during the pandemic, while a discussion with a US investor was under way.
Third place — corrective sensor system for visually impaired people
2018Leonardo da Vinci Young Inventors Competition · 3rd place
Vide / VISION
The Leonardo da Vinci student inventors’ and researchers’ competition is run by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation; the 2018 results were announced by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia on 16 November 2018. Eighteen of thirty-eight applications reached the final stage and were exhibited at TBC Bank Georgia. Anzori Kuparadze was the project leader and Nata Sulakvelidze the project author. The ministry’s announcement names Nata Sulakvelidze and Gvantsa Machitidze as the awarded authors, entered through Kutaisi Public School №22 / Niko Nikoladze School-Lyceum, with a third-place prize of 2,000 GEL. The same device later became Vide, and later still a GEL 100,000 GITA development grant.
Finalist in every year from 2017 to 2025, with multiple awards
2017Leonardo da Vinci Young Inventors Competition · Finalist
Finalist in every competition year from 2017 through 2025 — first as a student inventor, subsequently as mentor and specialist — with multiple awards. Recorded as one entry covering nine years, because the sources state the run as a run. Per-year placements and project titles are requested in interview round 2 (E3) and have not been supplied, so no year other than 2018 claims a specific placement. Students mentored at re:school went on to win awards at this competition.
Participant and award winner, 2017–2022
2017Millennium Innovation Awards
Six runs of the Millennium Innovation Awards between 2017 and 2022 — first as a student, then as a specialist. I am claiming the run and the awards, not a placement I cannot document.
